What We Believe

Maryland Community Church is a COMMUNITY of people
following CHRIST and serving in His CAUSE.

This is WAY more than just a catchy slogan we like to throw around. It’s who we are.

Where did this identity statement come from?

The short answer: John 17:20-26.

A slightly longer answer:

In John 17 we see a close look at Jesus’ prayer to the Father, and from that we get a good picture of His heart. He says, “…that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” which we state as COMMUNITY.

He goes on to add “I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory…” Following CHRIST is the only way. Jesus finally prays that “…I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” which we believe is the CAUSE of Christ.
