Request a Care Community
Interested in having a Care Community? Here is a short list of foster family Care Community information and expectations.
A team of 5-8 volunteers will fill various roles including family helper, child mentor, and team leader. They will provide practical help such as weekly meals, tutoring, childcare, laundry, yard work, etc. This does not include regular childcare or any other daily needs.
You must be willing to be contacted on a weekly basis for a 5-10 -minute call from the Team Leader. The purpose of this call is to discuss prayer requests and to share any needs with which the CC can help. This “buy-in” is key to the success of the team.
Care Communities strive to deliver one meal per week to the Foster Family’s home
Remember that all Care Community volunteers are trained and informed of mandatory confidentiality and also background checked. We do, however, recommend you use your own judgment and let your Team Leader know if you are uncomfortable leaving your child alone with anyone on your team. You may want to take some time to get to know your Care Community before you feel ready to leave your child in their care, and that is just fine!
